Linkin Park issues Donald Trump cease and desist order for unauthorized use of ‘In The End’

Linkin Park issued Donald Trump a cease and desist order regarding the use of his song ‘In The End’.

On Saturday (July 18), the president shared a campaign-style clip tweeted by White House director of social media Dan Scavino who featured the 2001 single.

A few hours later, the clip was removed from Twitter with the notification: “This media has been deactivated in response to a report by the copyright owner.”

Twitter removed the video after a copyright complaint made by Machine Shop Entertainment, the managing company owned by Linkin Park.

“We respond to valid copyright complaints that were sent to us by a copyright owner or their authorized representatives,” said a Twitter representative. The Guardian.

Soon after, the band shared a statement online, writing: “Linkin Park neither endorsed nor endorses Trump, nor authorized his organization to use our music. A cease and desist has been issued.

In 2017, the late gang leader Chester Bennington expressed his disapproval of Trump, writing a tweet that read, “I repeat … Trump is a greater threat to the United States than terrorism! We have to get our voices back and stand up for what we believe in. “

Linkin Park is not the first to call the President for the unauthorized use of his music. Neil Young, Dexys Midnight Runners, Panic! On The Disco, the Rolling Stones and more have told the president not to use his music.

Last month Linkin Park revealed that they still have unreleased material with the late leader Chester Bennington.

Mike Shinoda shared the news during a Twitch broadcast, opening up about a song called ‘Friendly Fire’ that was supposed to appear on Linkin Park’s 2017 album ‘One More Light’.

Meanwhile, Linkin Park’s ‘Leave Out All The Rest’ has received the mashup treatment by UK rising artist Macca Wiles.

Combining his recently released trap rock single ‘Outlined’ with the Linkin Park classic, Wiles pays tribute to band leader Chester Bennington with a heartbreaking and heartwarming soulful who hears his emotions flow through his raw and thoughtful voice.
