Lindsey Graham praises Jill Biden after DNC speech

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham praised former Second Lady Jill Biden after delivering her speech at the Democratic National Conference on Tuesday night.

“Last night, Jill Biden did a very good job and represented herself and Joe in the causes they believe in,” the South Carolina pol tweeted. “She is an excellent person who has led a consistent life.”

Graham has previously arrived to defend the Bidens’ character. In May, he also defended Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden vocally against allegations of sexual assault.

Jill, a longtime teacher, gave her talk Tuesday at Brandywine High School in Wilmington, Del., Where she once worked as an English teacher.

She gave a personal statement from Joe, referring to her battle with the 1972 car accident that killed her husband’s first wife and daughter and the battle of Beau Biden with brain cancer.

But Graham, who has a surprisingly tough race against Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison, also tweeted that he felt it was “painfully obvious” that the Democrats’ progressive wing controlled the show.

“It’s painfully obvious The Squad with @AOC, @BernieSanders, and Elizabeth Warren are in control of the Democratic Party’s legislative agenda,” Graham wrote. “Joe Biden is just with for the ride.”

It is not clear that Jill Biden would have had such warm words for Graham.

She told CNN in February that she had Sen. Lindsey no longer considers Graham a friend after Graham said he would seek investigations into her husband and stepson as head of the House Judiciary Committee.
