LeBron James woke up from his pregame nap to a major development in the NFL world.
The Washington soccer team is now officially the … Washington soccer team. The name is temporary for the 2020 season, while the franchise is working on a legitimate one to replace its old name. And the Los Angeles Lakers superstar couldn’t help but joke about it.

James scoffs at Washington’s ‘exhaustive’ criticism

James wrote:

Washington owner Dan Snyder first announced in early July, after financial pressure from sponsors and partners, that the team would undergo a “thorough review” of his name. The announcement to get rid of it came early last week.
In Snyder’s defense of the temporary name, it is a long process to change the name of a professional sports team. And the NFL season, if it starts on time during the COVID-19 pandemic, is seven weeks away.
Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant entered the conversation and gave James a disapproving look at the prank.
Durant is an avid fan of the Washington soccer team and gave fiery emojis to a post recommending the name change to “Washington Red Wolves.” Snyder introduced him to a game ball in 2014 and has been seen in games over the years.

But the decision to name a soccer team “soccer team” remains unreal and Twitter had fun with that.
Dez Bryant, who is still a free agent, is not a fan of the name and even went so far as to say that he is now concerned that a football season is not this year.
