The world _ Occupation _ Lebanon
The Information Office of the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic has previously responded to allegations about the president’s violation of the Lebanese constitution regarding negotiations to demarcate the southern maritime borders with the Zionists.
The Media Office posted a tweet via the official Twitter account earlier, saying: “We are controversial enough in Grandpa’s time, and Lebanon needs solidarity and national cohesion to preserve or restore its sovereign rights.”
He added: “This is not an international treaty with the Zionists, of normalization or recognition, and Lebanon is going to engage in practical and technical negotiations on the demarcation of its maritime borders to preserve its sovereignty and natural wealth in every inch of its land and its waters “.
He concluded: “Everyone talks about the President of the Republic violating the Constitution, expressing his sympathy for Article 52 of the same, when the Lebanese delegation announces that it will undertake technical negotiations to demarcate the southern maritime borders, with the aim of weakening the Lebanese position in the negotiation “.
Negotiations between the entity and Lebanon to demarcate the maritime borders are scheduled to begin this morning, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the border town of Naqoura, with the participation of representatives of United States and United Nations.
The oil and gas-rich area, disputed for years between Tel Aviv and Beirut in the Mediterranean Sea (Block 9), is about 860 square kilometers.
