He inspected the border area, and in Baku he met with officials, especially the president, and in Russia, he had very good conversations with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in Yerevan he met with officials, especially the Prime Minister of Armenia, and in Turkey he met with his counterpart and presented the Iran plan to him.
“One of the important points of Iran’s plan is that it not only relates to a temporary ceasefire, but calls for a step towards conflict resolution that begins with the declaration of the two parties’ commitment to a set of principles, and after that, and with the adoption of measures, the withdrawal of the occupying forces from all the occupied areas continues, “the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized.
He referred to other provisions of the plan, among them the guarantee of people’s rights and the search for channels of communication and monitoring of the countries of the region in relation to the implementation of the plan. “We are waiting for the Azerbaijani and Armenian officials, as well as our Russian and Turkish friends to express their opinion on this plan,” he said.
Regarding the presence of terrorist groups in the Karabakh region, Zarif said: “We confirm that their presence hurts everyone.
