Zarif noted that “Iran is not negotiating with the West on regional issues. Rather, it is ready for dialogue with the countries of the region itself.”
Speaking about the Iranian nuclear agreement, Zarif stressed that “Iran is the one who imposes the conditions to return to the agreement, not the United States”, and that if sanctions are not lifted, “Iran will reduce the number of international inspectors and control its nuclear facilities.” .
He noted that “the ball of the nuclear deal is not in the Iranian court, and the United States must fulfill its obligations first,” and stressed that “Iran is in no rush to return Washington to the nuclear deal.”
On his country’s position on the Yemeni crisis, Zarif said that “Iran’s initiative to resolve the crisis is still on the table, and that the visit of the UN envoy to Yemen to Tehran has nothing to do with the recent US position on the war in Yemen. “
