A set of new features launched by YouTube to match what is offered by TikTok
Following India’s ban on TikTok and 58 Chinese applications, following the escalation of the political dispute between the two countries, and the loss of the Chinese application, its largest foreign market, with more than 120 million users, it seems that YouTube took advantage of this loophole and decided to test a trial version in India. Similar to what is offered by «Tik Tok». It is decided that the “YouTube Short” site for short videos (not exceeding 15 seconds), will invest in this market and provide new tools related to the product used in the video. The new platform shows off the features of a multi-part camera for connecting different video clips, along with a speed limit, timer, and countdown timer for hands-free time recording. YouTube Short also provides the option to record using music in addition to accessing the song library, and all these steps try to fill the gap created by the Chinese app ban in India. Chris Jaffe, YouTube Vice President of Product Management, said in a blog post that “Short” is “for producers and artists who want to release short, engaging videos using only their cell phones.” He emphasized that this service will be expanded to include other markets in light of the improvements that have been made to the product.
