Any of the Democratic candidates, Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump, can win the majority of the electoral college votes, with a total of 538 votes, through two possible scenarios without the need for the Pennsylvania vote.
And after leading so far with 238 electoral college votes compared to Trump’s 213, Biden can go as high as 270 votes if he gets votes from states like Nevada (6 votes), Wisconsin (10 votes) and Michigan (16 votes).
In the other scenario, Trump can achieve a majority of the electoral college votes without the need for Pennsylvania votes if the states of Georgia (16 votes), Alaska (3 votes), Michigan (16 votes) and North Carolina are added. (15 votes).
And although the Democratic candidate continues to lead in the electoral college and the popular vote, the poll results are supposed to be decided by the core states: Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. North Carolina could also change the course of the election.
After counting 75% of the votes, the current president leads by 600,000 votes in Pennsylvania, and in Michigan he leads by 200,000 votes after counting 84% of the votes.
In Wisconsin, Biden lagged behind, leading by a few thousand votes after 99% of the votes were counted.
Trump leads in 23 states, mainly Florida, Texas and Ohio, while Biden leads 21 states, especially California, New York, Minnesota and Arizona.
As for the popular vote, the Democratic candidate leads by some 69 million votes (50%) compared to almost 67 million (48%) of his Republican rival.
