He added: We have to admit the mistake and we all quit, and no one has been able to control Lebanon through a militia.
Regarding the file of authorship of the government, he asked: Is it possible to extract the file of the government of the internal political disgrace? And I promised Macron what was wanted, “a government of specialists, not a government of nicks.”
He stressed that he opposed the collective resignation of the House of Representatives “because we would have reached a vacuum, and the alternative is a modern electoral law.
In this context, he considered that the current electoral law could not continue because it generates division, announcing his support for the approval of a new electoral law based on proportionality, and Lebanon is a unique district outside the sectarian restriction.
He commented on the student elections in the universities, noting that all parties were defeated in the Jesuit and American University elections, and the new generation is far from fossilized.
He explained that “opening files” is not the job of Basil and Jreissati and others, “and this approach is wrong because it does not come from an independent judiciary, so will they take responsibility in the energy file?”
Jumblatt referred to the regional situation, noting that “the game of nations benefited from the internal game and the internal division that was and continues to be, and there is no similarity with what we live today because the Arab world existed while it does not exist today, and the region of Iraq, Lebanon, Syria is over. “
He asked: Does the Islamic Republic want to respect Lebanon? Iran today considers Lebanon a stage to improve conditions vis-à-vis the Americans and the Israelis.
Noting that Lebanon is currently a confrontational arena and a missile base, and the Arab world does not exist, he commented on normalization with Israel, saying: Normalization has taken place, and we must accelerate internal settlement before we lose everything, and ask what is the fate of the Lebanese in the Gulf? What is the destination of our agricultural products there?
As for President-elect Joe Biden, Jumblatt revealed that the latter is his friend and has visited Lebanon twice before.
