Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Ankara will expand its military operations against PKK militants, which Ankara classifies as “terrorists”, in the next stage to areas that pose a threat to the country.

This came in a speech he gave today, Tuesday, during the regular conference of the “Justice and Development Party” that he chairs in Trabzon state, according to the Turkish “Anatolia” news agency.

Erdogan noted that “Turkey is fighting against the terrorist organization” PKK “, which has a history of massacres against civilians, and the latest of these massacres is the ruthless execution of unarmed people (in the Gara region of northern Iraq).

He stressed that “the Turkish forces will remain in the areas through which they entered and have achieved security to prevent any terrorist attack similar to the Gara massacre, as necessary.”

He said: “We will expand the scope of our military operations against terrorists in the next stage to areas that pose a threat to us.”

He added: “Gara is important, and it was troublesome, and he fell, and God willing, it’s over.”

The Turkish president stressed that his country’s forces “will find the terrorists and bury them in their lairs where they hide.”
