The Free Patriotic Movement in Lebanon on Saturday rejected “any behavior aimed at paralyzing judicial work in general and specifically preventing it from completing the course of investigating the crime of the attack on the port of Beirut in order to discover those responsible and prosecute them.”
The movement declared, “in return, it rejected any discretion, attack or transgression of the judiciary”, and asked “to follow the principles to oppose any violation of the law that the judicial investigator may have committed.”
The movement also refused to “damage the position of the prime minister and any other constitutional position, and for any party to assume any sectarian constitutional position to protect itself from responsibility for any crime or corruption, starting with the presidency of the republic.”
The movement considered that “resorting to sectarian and sectarian mobilization to respond to errors or misdemeanors constitutes an offense to the victims of the explosion and a fractional approach to a crime that afflicted all Lebanese without discrimination, and dealt a severe blow to the city of Beirut and its people “. .
On the other hand, the movement praised “the initiative of the President of the Republic to present an integrated government proposal based on clear rules and principles that would help accelerate the formation of the government without allowing himself to propose or impose names on all Lebanese and on behalf of all Lebanese. “
The movement called for “returning to constitutional principles in the government formation process in a way that preserves national balances and national association, especially the association of authorship between the President of the Republic and the Head of Government,” and hoped “Accelerate the completion of authorship ahead of French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit.”
