“We condemn and reject the US unilateral sanctions against Turkey for its purchase of S-400 air defense missiles,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued after the US announced the imposition of sanctions on Turkey in accordance with the “Katsa” Law.
He added: “Everyone is aware of the circumstances that accompanied Turkey’s purchase of these missiles, and specifically the President of the United States, Donald Trump, clearly said that Turkey is right in this matter, and the United States’ accusations of that these missiles will cause a weakening of NATO systems is not based on technical facts. “
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that, “Turkey has offered on several occasions to NATO to participate in a technical working group to work on solving this problem away from political prejudices, and to address the problem on a real basis, but the United States refused to agree to resolve this problem through dialogue and diplomacy in an appropriate way between two allies, and resorted to unilateral sanctions, which is an act that is far from being understood in any way.
