He also warned “citizens who really need amounts of US dollars not to try to obtain them except at banks, legal exchange houses and authorized money transfer companies, especially the families of Lebanese students abroad, who send dollars in cash to their children periodically with their friends and family “Because foreign financial institutions will refrain from accepting them, because they carry serial numbers that have been suspended, which exposes them to great losses or even legal liability for their source.”

Bou Ghantous concluded, asking the security and information agencies to “prosecute all those who carry out illegal exchange activities, because they promote amounts of these dollars, and most of the time they do not know their main source.”
