Netflix has raised most subscription fees for its services in the United States by 8 to 13 percent, after attracting more subscribers during the shutdown due to Corona.
The increase in subscription fees ranges from $ 1 to $ 14 per month, while the premium subscription, which allows multiple people to use the same account, increased by two dollars to become $ 18 per month, while the cost of the basic subscription remained at $ 9 per month.
This marks the first change in pricing for Netflix subscriptions in the United States, as the rate hike generally started early last year.
It is slated to impose higher fees on new subscribers in the United States, while the increases will be imposed on existing customers in the coming months.
As of last September, Netflix had registered 73 million subscribers in the United States and Canada, the vast majority in the United States.
The move was highly anticipated after Netflix raised the price of its Canadian subscriptions earlier this month and ended free 30-month subscriptions in the United States.
The increase in Netflix subscription fees comes amid an increase in its global growth, as isolation measures to contain the Corona virus have led to the closure of theaters and entertainment venues and other alternatives such as Netflix.
