Vettel breaks ties with Ferrari to stop negotiations

Although the news is very important in the world of the first category, it was expected, especially after the course of last year. In the last season, Vettel faced the strong rise of his young colleague Charles Locklear, as the son of the Principality of Monaco stole the spotlight and won the title of two races in exchange for a coronation of the German.

Locklear (22 years old), whom Vettel advanced in the overall drivers ranking (fourth solution and Vettel V), had extended his contract with Ferrari last December until 2024.

Locklear praised his colleague Vettel through his official Twitter account: “I have never learned more than I learned from you as a teammate, thanks for everything Sebastian.”

Reports indicated that Ferrari was only interested in extending Vettel’s contract for one year and reducing his salary, but the German said Tuesday that “the financial factor did not play a role in this decision.”

The alternative is?

The focus has recently focused on six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, whose contract with Mercedes will end at the end of the current season that was not originally launched due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus. But Hamilton has hinted that he will stay with the German team.

Among the candidates to succeed Vettel are the Spanish Carlos Sainz Jr (McLaren), the Australian Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) and the Italian Antonio Jovincci (Alfa Romeo).

Vettel got off to a strong start in the world of the top flight, with many expecting his superiority over legend Michael Schumacher, who was crowned seven times in the world championship, including five titles with Ferrari. But after Vettel’s quad with Red Bull, Ferrari succumbed to Mercedes and its British star Hamilton.
