The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon-UNIFIL announced in a statement today that it has deployed a detachment with military vehicles in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The UNIFIL statement indicated that UNIFIL assistance, which will be implemented in three phases within about three weeks, will be operational both at the port and in the city center, with a task force made up of engineers.
