The Beirut Permanent Military Tribunal, chaired by Brigadier General Munir Shehadeh, handed down two default sentences against the artist Fadel Shaker. The first conviction was sentenced to 15 years in prison for Fadl Shaker, accused of interfering in criminal acts committed by terrorists, with knowledge of the matter, providing “logistical” services, according to the ruling, today.
The second ruling sentenced Fadl Shaker to seven years in prison with hard labor and a fine of Lebanese £ 5 million for financing what is known as an armed “group of prisoners” by supplying him with ammunition.
It is noteworthy that the military court acquitted artist Fadl Shaker in 2018, when his son Muhammad published the military court’s decision and wrote: Praise God, my father Fadl Shaker’s innocence over a Lebanese court decision of the gang-forming charge armed – carry out any terrorist act – steal money from people. As a reminder, my father was acquitted of the charge of participating in Abra events and of being involved in the fight against the Lebanese army.
Al-Araby Al-Jadeed learned that it was not possible to appeal the ruling issued today by Shakir’s lawyer, because he had not surrendered to the judiciary, and is still in hiding.
In context, Shaker had released his new song two days ago, “Bekaa, Meet Me”, in the Egyptian dialect, through his official YouTube channel, which is from the words of Amr Al-Masry, composed by Amr El -Shazly, musical distribution by Amr Al-Khoudary, and the song achieved more than a million views in one day. .
