The Twitter platform confirmed that it was preparing to transfer the presidential account [email protected] Automatically for the president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, the moment he is sworn in on the day of the inauguration, and that is whether or not President Donald Trump abdicates.

The same is true at the expense of the White House. [email protected] And the vice president of the United States [email protected] And the first lady [email protected] And some other official accounts linked to the presidency.

Twitter spokesman Nick Basilio said in an email: “Twitter is actively preparing to support the transfer of institutional Twitter accounts to the White House on February 20, 2021.”

He added: “As we did for the presidential transition in 2017, this process is being carried out in close consultation with the National Archives and Records Administration.”

The transfer process does not require any kind of information sharing between the outgoing Trump team and the next Biden team, according to the company, and all tweets within those accounts are archived, and Twitter transfers the accounts to Biden on the day of the inauguration with the deletion of previous tweets after archiving them.

Trump refuses to acknowledge Biden’s victory, even though the results announced by election officials give Biden the presidential race.

The GSA, the federal agency responsible for the official presidential transition, has so far refused to do so.

This delayed Biden’s team’s access to everything from office space to government email addresses, and also prevented them from using the government domain. To host an official transition website, and if Trump continues to oppose his loss and fight his removal from the White House on January 20, he will not be able to say that he is responsible for one of the main digital assets of the presidency.

“Twitter” said: “Their representatives will meet with Biden officials in the coming months to discuss the details of how the new administrations use the Twitter platform.”

Trump continues to control his personal account [email protected] After Biden’s inauguration, the account loses the special protection it received due to Trump’s status as a global leader, which means that it is subject to the same rules as most users on the platform.

In 2016, during the Obama era, the White House announced a plan to transfer digital assets to the next president of the United States.

When President Barack Obama left office in 2017, Obama’s presidential accounts were transferred to accounts on file under the National Archives and Records Administration.

The Trump White House has declined to participate in a public debate on the details of the presidential transition, which includes what happens to digital assets, such as government “Twitter” accounts.
