The available broadcast hours, totaling three thousand, include a group of programs previously broadcast by the “partner” stations of “TV5 Mond”, among which are “France TV”, “Radio France”, “Radio Canada “and” Tele Quebec “. And “TV5 Quebec Canada” and others. Printed translations are also available for about 80 percent of these programs, as the health crisis has delayed other translations.
Pigou noted that the global Francophone digital platform project that French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about during the Francophone Summit in Yerevan in October 2018 was achieved “with the momentum” of Canada, which “proved Netflix’s power and influence to Europe. on your floor. ”
He explained that the Canadian government subsequently invested “C $ 14 million over five years” in the platform. While he did not disclose the full cost of the platform, he claimed that it is funded in part by TV5 Monde’s annual budget of € 108 million.
