The retreating forces moved to the Jabal Al-Zawiya area in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Similarly, the opposition media spoke about the intention of the Turks to withdraw their forces from all points in the Syrian army control areas, confirming that the decision was “taken by them last Thursday.” It is possible that the aforementioned withdrawal was part of a Russian-Turkish understanding on the redeployment of Turkish forces in northwestern Syria, as Moscow had repeatedly called on Ankara to withdraw from the region. During the last period, Russian forces took on the task of providing logistical support to besieged Turkish observation points, and yesterday also escorted retreating Turkish convoys until they left the Syrian army control areas. There were no comments from Ankara on the withdrawal of its soldiers or their fate, especially as it repeatedly stated its “unwillingness to withdraw from any of its observation points.”
Under an agreement concluded with Russia in September 2018 in the city of Sochi, Turkey will deploy 12 observation points in and around Idlib governorate, of which Syrian forces have cordoned off several of them during two attacks on armed factions. backed by Ankara in the region.
