“Article 230” protects Internet companies from liability, and Trump had called for the article to be removed after the Twitter and Facebook platforms placed warning signs in their posts, especially during the presidential election on 3 May last november.

Trump said on Twitter: “Article 230, which is a gift from the United States to protect ‘tech giants’ from liability (and they are the only companies in America that have it; a corporate welfare regime) is a serious threat to our national security and electoral integrity. “

He added in an accompanying tweet: “It is therefore dangerous and unfair that Article 230 is not completely removed from the NDAA. I will certainly be forced to veto the law.”

Trump affirmed that there was “fraud” in the elections and launched a campaign through his social platforms, coinciding with his judicial efforts to challenge the electoral results.

US President Donald Trump has fought several battles in recent months with social media giants Facebook and Twitter, focusing on the content he posts for his followers on the two platforms.

Twitter and Facebook in particular defended placing warning signs in the president’s posts that they were willing to defend his policies, “protecting themselves from disinformation” and “not calling for violence,” while officials accused them of targeting Republican posts and exempt Democrats from the same deal. The companies have repeatedly denied this, noting that they have added similar tags to accounts belonging to Democratic Party officials.
