On Sunday, outgoing US President Donald Trump headed to his golf course in Stirling, Virginia, near Washington, for the second day in a row after announcing his defeat in the US presidential election.

The Republican president was mainly in the field when the US media indicated Saturday that he could not make up the difference with Joe Biden, declaring the Democrat victory in the November 3 election.

Trump has not acknowledged his defeat and says without providing evidence that fraud occurred during the election.

On the way between the White House and Stirling, Trump saw Americans carrying placards opposing him as his caravan passed. On Saturday, crowds took to the streets of major cities to celebrate their defeat.

For his part, Joe Biden went to church Sunday morning in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. The president-elect is a committed Catholic and attends Mass regularly.
