The world – The Americas
A call came after reports that Washington intends to reduce its military presence in Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf region in general, followed by statements by Trump that renew his blackmail of Riyadh to pay money for protection.
And between the scenario of continuing the policy of blackmailing Riyadh or its punishment for its performance in managing the oil crisis and its economic repercussions on the US oil industry, the United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, said that withdrawing Saudi Arabia’s “Patriot batteries” air defense systems is a routine measure and not a means of pressuring the kingdom on oil issues and not reducing its support, while seeing that the Iranian threat is still present.
A report by the American newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” revealed that Washington had withdrawn the Patriot anti-missile batteries published after the Yemeni attacks on the Aramco oil facilities, and the departure of two squadrons of American fighters in the region, in parallel with the Pentagon study that reduces naval presence.
Similar information reported by the Associated Press and France Press reported that US military sources confirmed that Washington had begun withdrawing four Patriot batteries with its crews from Saudi Arabia, after considering that the threat posed by Iran to the interests of the United States in the region was withdrew, according to sources.
“Reuters” was reportedly recently quoted by US sources as saying that Trump threatened Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman not to prevent Congress from passing a law to expel US soldiers from Kingdom lands if he does not reduce extracting Saudi oil to increase world oil prices.
