To close the country for two weeks without exception

The Lebanese Restaurant, Cafe, Cabaret and Pastry Owners Union issued the following statement:
“The Union follows up on the partial and regional closure decision, which is issued weekly with recommendations from the Coronavirus Preventive Measures and Procedures Follow-up Committee, which shows each time that it is useless, neither for health nor for the economy, and the evidence is that the number of infections has not decreased.

As for the curfew, which begins at nine at night, it harms the sector more than it benefits it by depriving it of benefiting from dinner, and forcing establishments to depend solely on lunch that does not cover even a fraction of the high operating cost of our institutions.
It is noteworthy that the Union has carried out scientific and digital inspection and audit campaigns, periodically and systematically, to institutions in all Lebanese territories to ensure the implementation of standards and procedures for the Coronavirus, and its results were excellent, and its Trademarks were published in documents and issues every two weeks in the media, so the State remained to strike with an iron fist on violating institutions. Which will run after today.

For this reason, the Union recommends that the Committee for Monitoring Measures and Preventive Measures of the Coronavirus take the decision to carry out a complete closure for a period of two weeks that covers the entire Lebanese territory, without exception of any sector.
The best thing is that this happens during the month of November, like the rest of the world, which settled the situation before it was too late and closed immediately in place of the holiday month of December.
