Saudi communication with Russia comes after a series of contacts made by the leadership of the Kingdom, in recent days, with the member states of the coalition of aggression against Yemen, and in other countries such as Pakistan and Senegal, all of them focused on what It can be done to avoid the scene of the fall of the city of Marib. These contacts demonstrate Riyadh’s failure in the confrontation on the ground with “Ansar Allah” and, therefore, its lack of ingenuity and inability to put an end to the onslaught of forces from Sanaa towards the city, and its willingness to end the remaining forces under the banner of the “coalition”, after the Saudi forces fled the center of the governorate, leaving their agents to their destination.
In parallel with the Saudi movement, and in line with it, Britain is trying to raise the Marib issue in the Security Council to obstruct the completion of his release. In this way, the assertion that the continuation of the Yemeni army and the popular committees in the attack will expose the inhabitants and those displaced there to serious danger, taking into account that, so far, they have not been registered civilian casualties in the city or addresses in military escalation, with the exception of the victims left by the aggressive air strikes. As happened in the Mahliya district, where two civilians were killed and two others injured, in the middle of last week.
In a parallel line, and as every time the great powers rise up to warn of a danger that threatens the “peace process” due to the achievements on the ground of the Sana’a forces, the representatives of the permanent members of the Council Security, in addition to Germany, Kuwait, Sweden and the European Union met in New York, where they issued a statement in which they intervened. On the “urgent need to achieve political progress in Yemen”, expressing deep concern over the attack by what they called “the Houthis” in Marib governorate. The statement emphasized the need for “an inclusive political process, including the full participation of women and youth,” calling on all parties to cooperate with the UN envoy, Martin Griffiths, “in a constructive and continuous manner, without preconditions, to quickly reach an agreement on the peace proposals. The United Nations mentioned it. ”

For his part, British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab took advantage of the joint session in New York to shed crocodile tears on the humanitarian situation in Yemen, especially in the north, as he warned of the danger of falling into a massive famine, announcing that his country will contribute 5.8 million pounds (7.5 million dollars). As aid to the country, taking into account that the culprit for preventing aid from reaching the northern governorates is the ally of his country, the United States, which imposed an embargo on humanitarian organizations and donor countries to stop their aid to these governorates . In early March, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited the United Nations, where, according to the US magazine “Foreign Policy”, he began to pressure the United Nations to stop its aid, or part of it, to some areas. controlled by “Ansar Allah”. And at the beginning of last June, Washington transferred, during the “donor conference” held in Riyadh, the subsidy to Yemen to the provinces under Saudi-Emirati occupation.
