The Military Court of Cassation chaired by Judge Tani Latouf ended the interrogation of Lieutenant Colonel Suzan al-Hajj, accused of hiding information about her superiors about the fabrication of the file on the deal with Israel for the theater actor Ziad Itani, who led to the arrest of the latter for two and a half months.

The Court of Cassation today dedicated its session to questioning Al-Hajj, in the presence of his agents, former Captain Rasheed Derbas and lawyers Marc Habaka and Ziad Hobeish, as well as the pirate Elie Ghobash, and his lawyer, Jihad Lotfi, was present and the session was held in the presence of the representative of the Public Ministry of Cassation, Judge Ghassan Khoury.

At the beginning of the session, Captain Derbas pointed out that his client could not be tried before this court, since she was not charged or convicted of a criminal offense, and here the president of the court asked why this defense was raised in this session and not at the beginning of the trial, however, the presidency of the court decided to include it in the merits of the case and proceeded to it.

During his lengthy interrogation, Al-Hajj denied any connection to the Itani file and reported that he was informed of the delusion that the State Security Agency had arrested Ziad Itani in an Israel-related case, and was shocked when Ghobsh He told him that Ziad confessed to dealing with Israel in five minutes.

Al-Hajj noted that he learned during the course of the investigation in the archive that Ghobsh created a fake Israeli account and tried to lure Ziad Itani into speaking with him through this account.

In response to the question of the representative of the Public Ministry, Judge Ghassan Khoury, if anyone can create a false account in the name of a specific person, his answer was: Yes, if he has a minimum of technical experience.

He indicated that the file that Ghobash presented to the State Security Agency could not accuse Itani because it was an empty file, and if they (State Security) had sought the help of a technical expert, they would have quickly discovered that this report does not have courage and hastened to destroy it.

In response to a question about whether she investigated any files related to dealing with Israel when she was head of the Office for Combating Information Crimes, she replied: No.

Here, Captain Derbas asked him: If you had seen all the details of the Ghoshah report in which he fabricated the file of actor Ziad Itani, would you have discovered that it was a corrupt report? Then she replied: I sure would have found out. that it was corrupt and void of any evidence. As soon as the court completed the interrogation, it decided to postpone the session until 10:30 am on Thursday, April 8, in order to hear the opinion of the representative of the Public Ministry of Cassation, the allegations and the defense lawyers of Al-Hajj and Ghobsh, and then issue the verdict.
