The Lebanese Army Command confirmed that the military units spare no effort to maintain security and stability in the city of Tripoli, as well as in the rest of the Lebanese regions.
Stressing that it respects the right to peaceful demonstration and expression of opinion, it warned those who violate security that they will be prosecuted, arrested and referred to the competent court.
In a statement issued by the Orientation Directorate, it indicated that an army patrol detained three people, including a Syrian, who were inside the Tripoli Municipality building in Al-Tal Square, suspected of participating in acts of sabotage. and set fire to the aforementioned building of the municipality, which caused its burning.
He noted that the army had been deployed throughout the city of Tripoli at 3:00 p.m. and three soldiers were injured by stones, explosives and Molotov cocktails during the protests in Tripoli. An investigation was started with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial power
