Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerrini said that “the attack that took place inside the military hospital is a dangerous and unacceptable matter,” praising the rapid intervention of the personnel of this medical institution, which has become a specialized center for treatment of people with Covid-19.

The leader of the far-right Liga party and former Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini, was quick to comment on the incident, speaking of the effects of the “bites and beatings” by these immigrants, considering that the Italian government denies the urgency of the immigration issue and “endangers Italy”.

The Italian news agencies Ake and Ansa indicated that the Nigerian migrants, who are two women and a man, who were taken to the “Sileo” hospital from a migrant reception center, behaved violently on Friday night after informing them that his tests for Covid-19 had come back positive.

And after seeing a Bengali leave the hospital after confirming that he was not infected with the virus, the three migrants tried to flee, but soldiers and hospital employees prevented them.
