He considered that “the solution begins with the formation of a rescue government for what remains of this country, and the constitution does not allow President Hassan Diab to retire, and I do not regret my appointment as Minister of the Interior in this difficult and sensitive circumstance. , and we must assume our responsibilities after the tragedy that affected Lebanon, be it the Corona pandemic or the explosion of the port of Beirut ”.
He said: “I was not referring to the criminal investigation when I signaled my resignation after the port explosion, but to the administrative investigation that contains a” summary of the initial information “, and this investigation was effectively issued within 72 hours.
He added: “We are working as security agencies to assist the Judiciary in the investigation of the murder of Joe Bejani, Luqman Selim and Colonel Abu Rajeli,” noting that “the security situation has completely disappeared today and the country is exposed to All possibilities”. , not just murders and “God knows what”, and the security forces From the public security, the army and all the other security services, they are working with all their efforts to protect Lebanon.
Regarding the possibility of holding partial elections, Fahmy stated that “articles 43 and 52 of the law oblige the Ministry of the Interior to hold partial elections, but there are logistical, material and health obstacles that may prevent them from being held.
