This is the case for Beirut Government Hospital employees, who currently suffer the high rate of injuries among themselves, including administrators and medical staff. While the hospital’s general director, Firas Abyad, tweets on Twitter about the latest news regarding the virus, the hospital, which was announced by the Ministry of Public Health with the start of the Crown crisis, “is no longer under control” , with the spread of the Corona virus within their departments. Dozens of injuries occur to medical and administrative staff every day, while names are kept confidential, as if nothing is happening. This has created a state of confusion and confusion among employees, who are concerned about the speed of the virus spreading among themselves. In the latest statistics from the hospital’s internal report, yesterday “7 injuries were recorded among nurses working in the maternity department, 3 in the purchasing department, in addition to 4 injuries in warehouses.” 14 injured in a single day, with justified fear that “what remains of the limit will always accumulate.” Sarcastic phrase, but that expresses what happens inside the hospital, where the staff is at the same time scared and disappointed by the “indifference of the management”. Those who are supposed to be in the first line of defense face the virus without protective measures. Sometimes they face raw meat. Faced with this reality, instead of the administration taking emergency measures reducing the numbers by adopting the shift system, it goes against the current, since employees today complain of the “overcrowding” of vortices. They also complain about their neglect of the “glory” of their injury, as they miss asking about their condition “and the condition of their families who are quarantined with them in danger at home, even by phone,” according to one of the employees who work there, asking: “Is it the saying that history reminds of leaders and wars and does not apply? Do you remember the martyrs and heroes? ».

In addition, yesterday new names of the affected localities were added to the list issued weekly by the Ministry of the Interior and Municipalities. After Interior Minister Mohamed Fahmy decided to close 63 towns and villages with high casualty rates, the town of Hermel and the town of Hosh al-Rafiqa in the Bekaa Valley joined the isolated towns, according to a decision of the governor of Baalbek-Hermel, Bashir Khadr, after the large increase in the number of wounded. The list is expected to expand further, with several cities joining almost daily where the virus is spiraling out of control. They are scenarios that will intensify with the spread of the Coronavirus and the disdain of the majority of citizens for preventive measures. This means something, is that “the Corona virus is not under control”, as emphasized by the Director General of the Government Hospital of Beirut, based on the figures registered by the Corona virus and the basic indicators, especially the percentage of positive tests that reached 11%, and the occupancy rate for care beds. These measures were recently discussed by authorities and experts, but “if they are not implemented soon, the numbers will start to rise even more.”
