The Shiite Islamic Supreme Council in Lebanon condemned, on Saturday, “the unjust US sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has continued its tyranny by including the Razavi shrine on the terrorism list.”
In a statement, the Council considered that “this decision constitutes an attack on religious sanctities and an aggressive, dangerous and unprecedented behavior that provokes the feelings of Muslims and violates international laws and norms and religious and cultural values.”
The Council called on the US administration to “retract this illegal and immoral decision and abandon this aggressive behavior because of the religious and cultural value of Muslims in the world and a global human and cultural value.”
He asked the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” to “condemn this decision on the basis of its responsibility to preserve this cultural landmark, its educational function and its scientific and civilizational position.”
