Newsweek magazine reported that experts in New York City are investigating a new case of a severe allergic reaction in the United States to the Corona virus vaccine developed by Pfizer and Biontech.
In this regard, it was reported that more than 30,000 people were vaccinated against the Corona virus in the city, and a medical worker was exposed to an acute allergic reaction after receiving this vaccine, this being the first case of this type in New York and the seventh in United States.
Information on the other six cases was posted on the website of the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on December 19.
The magazine quoted the City Administration for Physical and Psychological Health saying that “taking this vaccine causes side effects and the appearance of allergic complications, such cases are known and do occur”, noting that the developers of this vaccine did not hide that such cases, although rare, do occur. Appropriate warnings in this regard are found in clinical trial reports and vaccine certification.
The US Food and Drug Administration said last week that it was studying about five cases of allergic reaction that were reported in the country to the “Pfizer” vaccine, which was previously approved by the regulator.
Experts say that a chemical called polyethylene glycol, which is not only included in the components of the “Pfizer” vaccine, but also in the “Moderna” vaccine, can cause an allergic reaction.
