An American tipped $ 3,000 for a bottle of beer at a restaurant that voluntarily closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The man walked in on Sunday, ordered beer, and then requested the $ 7.02 bill for the account, Nighttown owner Brendan Ring wrote on Facebook.
Ring said the man wished him well and asked him to share tips with the four employees, who were serving lunch.
When the man left, he wrote Ring, looked at the tip, and “realized he had left a whopping $ 3,000.”
“I ran after him, but he said there was no mistake. See you when you reopen the restaurant,” he added.
Ring also said it would not release the client’s name because it believed the man did not want to.
The restaurant owner further noted that he and his staff are “humbly grateful for this gracious and wonderful gesture.”
