The CEO of the Tennis Association, Steve Simon, thanked the suggestion of the world number four, the Swiss Roger Federer, merging it with the Association of Professionals in a single body.
Federer, the record holder for the number of Grand Slam titles (20 titles), called last month to merge the two associations, considering that the current time is appropriate for such a step, referring to the crisis linked to the suspension of the competitions due to the emerging Corona virus.
I wonder … Am I the only one who thinks that now is the time for men’s and women’s tennis to come together and come together as one?

“I am not afraid of full integration, I will definitely be the first to support the idea. It is obviously a long and winding road, but I think there is definitely a vision,” Simon said in an interview with the US New York Times published on Tuesday.
Federer’s proposal has supported a number of prominent names in the game, such as the second seed from Spain, Rafael Nadal, the Romanian Simona Halep and the American Billy Jane King, who were previously ranked first in the professional category.
While Simon acknowledged that any unification of the two associations is still a long way off, he believed that the impact of the “Covid-19” pandemic on the game economically and financially could help speed things up and reach an agreement on the merger.

The two associations have been forced to take measures to reduce costs since the outbreak of the Corona virus, which led to the suspension of their powers until July 13 at the earliest. Many of the tournaments, especially the English championship, Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam, have been canceled, while the French Roland Garros championship was postponed from May to September.
