The political bureau of the Amal Movement issued the following statement:
The political bureau of the Amal Movement held its periodic meeting headed by its president, Jamil Hayek, with the presence of the members, and after discussing the situation in the Lebanese sphere, the following statement was issued:
1 – The political office of the Amal Movement stopped at the measures taken by the judicial investigator in the port crime, and the office highlighted its desire to keep the investigation away from any politicization, which led to clarify the whole truth in this file, determine legal responsibilities and take action against all those responsible and negligent.
And the Political Bureau considered that what was issued by the judicial investigator is contrary to the constitutional and legal norms that the investigator himself confirmed in his letter to the Council of Representatives on 11/26/2020, which was received by the office of the Council of Representatives, considering that it is necessary to complete the file and present documents that are based on what is required and direct. With the necessary measures, and this did not happen, in fact what did happen was to circumvent constitutional articles 40 and 70 of the constitution without any justification.
What happened raises questions about the direction of the investigation and its procedures, and the fear that it will be lost and takes us away from the principles necessary to discover the truth and achieve justice for the martyrs and those affected.
2- The political bureau of the Amal Movement warns of the dangers of hindering and delaying the formation of the government at the time of fear for the national destiny, and makes a strong call to accelerate the formation of the government away from quotas and narrow differences.
3- The political office of the Amal Movement praised the success of the student movement in defense of the right of students to ensure university education opportunities and against the increase in premiums and prices in dollars outside the official price, and in parallel the office requested the need for serious work to support the Lebanese University and ensure that it can accommodate students.
The Political Bureau called on all labor and union sectors to prepare to face any measure that presses on living reality without clear and concrete plans to face the conditions of the middle and poor classes according to clear and studied legal bases.
4- The political office of the Amal Movement condemned the recent and repeated violations of the Lebanese territories and airspace by the Israeli enemy, and the shots and flares over many areas, and requested that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the United Nations and its forces operating in Lebanon take the necessary measures to deter the practices of the Zionist enemy.
