US military scientists have identified a small antibody, a nanobody, produced by a flame, that appears to work well in liquid or aerosol form, that can help protect against the emerging corona virus.
Washington- Sputnik. The US Department of Defense stated in a press release Thursday: “Researchers have discovered that at least one of these nanobodies, called (NIH-CoVnb-112), can be very effective in preventing infections or detecting virus particles by containing virus proteins “.
The nanoscale inactivates the virus by covering parts of the surface of the virus, disrupting the pathogen’s ability to infect the patient, according to the researchers from the Unified Services University of Health Sciences mentioned in the statement.
The statement added that
Nanobodies are a type of antibody about one-tenth the weight of most human antibodies and occur naturally in the immune systems of camels, alpacas, and llamas.
The llama was vaccinated 5 times in 28 days with a processed copy of the virus’s special protein to produce the nanoscale. Nanobodies are more stable, less expensive to produce, and easier to engineer than typical human antibodies.
