The United States Department of Defense, the Pentagon, announced Saturday that it is poised to distribute 20 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine this month, promising that the American people will receive the vaccine fairly.
The Pentagon said the distribution process for Corona vaccines is done in a transparent manner, noting that the safety of the vaccines is carefully checked before they are administered to Americans.
He revealed that the vaccine will be transferred to 64 new areas according to a mechanism that guarantees the safety of the vaccine, while this week 9.7 million doses of the Moderna vaccine will be distributed.
The Pentagon explained that the Moderna vaccine is easier to store due to the possibility of being stored at higher temperatures than others, and that its availability “will allow us to strengthen our defenses,” adds the Pentagon. The Pentagon predicted the end of this pandemic, but that will take time.
On Friday, the United States granted emergency permission to use Moderna’s vaccine against Covid-19, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.
Thus, Moderna becomes the second vaccine approved in the United States after the Pfizer / Bionic vaccine, to be used as part of the mass vaccination campaign that began in the country on Monday.
The United States is the country most affected by the epidemic, with 313,660 deaths out of 17,465,147 cases.
And epidemiologists consider that more than 70% of the population of a country must be vaccinated to stop the spread of the virus in it. This percentage means that 230 million people in the United States should get vaccinated against the virus.
