On Sunday, the Israeli occupation state unveiled a new laser-guided mortar shell that will be used, especially in cities, to reduce collateral damage, at a time when the international judiciary is investigating the possibility of committing crimes. of war.

Israel has the “Iron Dome” anti-missile system, and since Sunday it has acquired the “Iron Sting”, a 120mm laser-guided mortar shell manufactured by local company Al-Bayt Systems.

Israeli Security Minister Benny Gantz said the missile was “designed to accurately hit targets in open spaces or urban areas, while minimizing the possibility of collateral damage.”

Gantz stressed that Israel abides by “legal and ethical standards,” according to his claim.

“This laser-guided munition and Global Positioning System (GPS) transform mortar systems … into a precise weapon,” said Udy Feride, a company official who conducted the tests.

The announcement coincides with the opening by the International Criminal Court of an investigation into possible war crimes committed by Israel since June 2014, especially in the densely populated Gaza Strip, which is subject to a strict Israeli siege.
