Trump administration leads normalization agreements with Israel (Getty)
Jared Kushner, adviser and son-in-law to US President Donald Trump, said Thursday that normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel is still underway, considering that the announcement of the normalization of relations between Morocco and Israel is a translation of the peace accords.
Kouchner, who spoke with journalists on this occasion by telephone, praised the history of relations between the United States and Morocco that “go back to the year 1776”, which took his expressions in various forms, including “commercial, diplomatic and intelligence” , highlighting the “tolerance of the royal family towards the Jews of Morocco.”
He also indicated that Washington’s recognition of the Sahara as part of the Kingdom of Morocco is nothing more than an expression of “recognition of the reality on the ground”, while it is believed to have been part of the recognition agreement with Israel.
In response to a question about his expectations regarding Saudi-Israeli normalization, Kushner said that “this possibility exists and we are closely monitoring it.” Referring to the rapprochement between them, he said it is a matter of time, and depends on “how to get there.”
Kushner extended his praise for the “new” diplomacy adopted by the US administration in this area, which “bore fruit that speaks for itself despite criticism against it.”
Kushner’s statement came shortly after US President Donald Trump announced the full normalization of relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Israeli occupation state, in parallel with his announcement of the United States’ recognition of the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara.
The president of the United States wrote on Twitter, in an announcement that is the fifth of its kind after it was preceded by the announcement of normalization with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kosovo and finally Sudan: “Another historical event that took place today , our great friends Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco agreed to establish full diplomatic relations ”, describing this as“ A breakthrough for peace in the Middle East ”.
