The US newspaper “New York Times”, citing three unidentified officials, reported that Israel was behind the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, director of the Center for Research and Technology at the Iranian Defense Ministry.

The American newspaper added that the Iranian scientist who was killed had long been a target of the Israeli Mossad.
