The Union pointed out, in a statement, that “Minister Nehme’s decision to stop the subsidies carries heavy burdens in these difficult economic and living conditions, in addition to being an unconstitutional decision because it is not allowed for the resigned government and the Minister of Economy make a decision that contradicts the foundations of the decision to set the subsidies, although it is an obligation The Ministry of the Economy determines the maximum price and the mechanism to sell them in the Lebanese wholesale and retail market, monitors the sales assets, avoids the monopoly and establishes an effective mechanism to take harsh measures against anyone who violates the provisions of the ministry’s decision and deprived them of the effects of intermediate decision No. 13229 issued on 05/27. / 2020 on the Central Bank of Lebanon and rigor to return the value of the subsidy and refer the offender to the competent judicial reference.

He also denounced this “unfair decision that threatens a wide range of Lebanese”, as Fares called on behalf of farmers to “support agricultural supplies and animals such as fertilizers, medicines and seeds, to protect food security and activate the agricultural cycle. and production and export abroad to ensure the reviving foreign currency “. The economy turns its wheel and creates job opportunities in light of this recession. “

The union hoped that “the government that resigned and its president would act to correct the decision, control the market and hold the violators accountable rather than use collective punishment, especially since there are mechanisms that can be put in place to prevent fraud and we are willing to help, “emphasizing the need to quickly form an effective government to lift the country out of its crises.
