The King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, affirmed his country’s aspiration to build solid, full and lasting relations with Israel.
During their meeting, they discussed the joint US-Israeli delegation led by Jared Kushner, adviser to the US president, and the head of Israel’s National Security Council, Meir Ben Shabat, at his palace in Rabat, the development of relations between the two countries.
For his part, Ben Shabat, in the Moroccan dialect, on behalf of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, invited the Moroccan monarch to visit Israel.
He said: “I would like to thank Prime Minister Netanyahu for the honor we have enjoyed in belonging to the Israeli delegation charged with the task of translating political achievement into practical steps.”
He added that “relations with Morocco have a special meaning that goes beyond the political and economic aspects. Many Israeli citizens, from the Moroccan community, have aspired to this moment.”
He continued: “I and many of the second and third generation of Jews who came from Morocco to live in Israel are still faithful to the heritage of our ancestors and preserve it.”
Representatives of the two parties entered into various agreements on various issues, including the exemption of entry visas for those with diplomatic and service passports, cooperation in the field of water, funds and investments, as well as another agreement to establish cooperation in the field of civil aviation and direct flights between the two countries.
