The Ministry of Energy and Water announced this Wednesday in a statement that the fair price of the rates for private generators for the month of September is as follows:
582 pounds for every kilowatt hour.

– 10 Amp Capacity: 30,000 LBP. + Monthly package x 582 LBP For each kilowatt hour.
– 15 Amp Capacity: 40,000 LBP. + Monthly package x 582 LBP For each kilowatt hour.
5,000 LBP to add On the fixed portion of the meter price for every additional 5 amps.
The statement added: “This rate is based on an average price of 20 liters of diesel fuel for the month of September, which is 15,607 LBP. And that’s after taking into account all the expenses, benefits and costs of the generators, as well as a good profit margin for their owners.
The statement indicated that “this price was issued based on the mathematical table approved by the Ministry of Energy since October 14, 2010; And in compliance with Cabinet Resolution No. 2 issued on 12/14/2011 on taking the necessary measures to adjust the rate of private generators, and based on the announced inter-ministerial application mechanism (internal energy and economy) on 12/20/2011, which specified the responsibility of the Ministry of Energy and Circulating Water for the prices of private generators based on diesel prices at the end of each month.
The statement adds that “10% will be added to the approved price if the generator is located in a mountainous area or in small towns where the number of subscribers is small and the distribution networks are long.”
The Ministry of Energy and Water also announced that it had “sent books to the Ministries of the Interior and Economy on the prices of September 2020 to do what is required according to the joint control mechanism.”
