Declaration issued by the Secretariat of the Marian Maronite Order:
In recent days, social networks have spread a collection of photographs of the man of God, Father Anthony Tarabay, the Maronite Maronite monk, with words attributed to him, which contain a kind of arrogant “prophecies” about Lebanon and have a dangerous inflammatory prospect.
It is important that the monastic general presidency confirm that these images and the like are not emitted by monasticism at all, and the words in which they are totally incorrect, but constitute an immediate slander, incitement and politicization, to sow confusion in the souls of believers.
Consequently, whoever is behind these misleading accusations will take responsibility for what they issued, while the Order will retain its right to legally pursue it.
Monasticism calls not to share these misleading images, and asks all who love Father Anthony Tarabay and those to whom these images reach to pray to God for the proclamation of his holiness, and to pray to our Lord for the recovery of Lebanon of his ordeal through the intercession of the Virgin Mary and all the saints of Lebanon, with an emphasis on the monastic position, Spiritually, morally and socially, together with all authentic Lebanese who desire the welfare, sovereignty and prosperity of nation.
