The Lebanon team brings the orange ball to life

The coaching staff of the Lebanese men’s national basketball team has summoned 14 players to make technical and physical preparations for the “second window” of the men’s Asian Cup qualifiers to be held next year. Preparations come in preparation for the two matches of the Lebanese team in Group D, which will be organized by the capital of Bahrain, Manama. The Lebanese team will face their Indian counterpart on November 27 and their Iraqi counterpart on November 29.

The Cedars team will start training tomorrow Wednesday at the Center Demirjian stadium (Naccache) in Interranik (Beirut), so the club’s management has made the stadium available to the Lebanese team without any compensation.
The following are the names of the coaching staff and the players who were called to participate in the exercises: Joe Mujaeis (coach), Jad Al-Hajj (assistant coach), Gerard Hadidian, Wael Araji, Aziz Abdel Masih, Elie Chamoun, Karim Zeinoun, Ali Mansour, Ali Haidar, Karim Ezzedine, Elie Rostom, Joseph Shartouni, Georges Beiruti, Ali Mezher, Ater Majok and Nadim Saeed (players).
The preparations come as part of a preparatory program prepared by the National Teams Committee headed by member Ghazi Boustani, in coordination with the President of the Lebanese Federation, the Vice President of the AFC Akram Halabi and members of the Lebanese Federation.
In a related context, Lebanon tops the fourth qualifying group with 4 points, followed by Bahrain (3), India (2) and Iraq (2). Lebanon achieved the full mark in the “first window” by defeating Iraq (87-68) and Bahrain (116-73) last February.
It is noteworthy that 24 countries from the Asian and Oceanic continents are participating in the qualifiers, and they were divided into six groups as follows:
– Group A: Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea. Group B: Chinese Taipei, Japan, Malaysia and China. Group C: Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Guam. Group D: Bahrain, Lebanon, India and Iraq. Group E: Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar and Iran.
The following is the international and continental classification of the Group D teams:
Lebanon: 57 internationally and 9 Asians, India: 73 worldwide and 12 Asians, Iraq: 79 globally and 14 Asians, Bahrain: 112 globally and 23 Asians.
