The Shiites and Hezbollah are responsible because they did not keep their promise. He added: “I am ashamed” of what the Lebanese leaders are doing.

Macron stressed that we must exert political pressure, and now we have no choice but to work to unite the parties in Lebanon. He pointed out that we are not afraid of a civil war, and sanctions do not seem like the right option at the moment and do not respond to the need, and what we have to do is exert political pressure. He believed that the US sanctions had changed the atmosphere in Lebanon. He explained that there is no evidence that Iran played a role in preventing the formation of the Lebanese government.

Macron said that 6 weeks from now, if no progress is made in Lebanon, we will be forced to adopt another option to reconfigure a new political class, and next month will be the basis for action. He stressed that no one trusts the current financial system and Lebanon will not know any golden age with this approach.
