The Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, postponed the general amnesty bill to an evening session and formed a committee to agree on the proposal, consisting of Elie Ferzli, Ali Hassan Khalil, Hadi Hobeish, Alan Aoun, Ibrahim al-Mousawi, Jamil al-Sayed and Bilal Abdullah. The committee will meet between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to reach a compromise. In response to the urgent need for this proposal and the sensitivity it has between the different parties.

Berri said: “I know the sensitivity of this law for each of the parties, and we must reach a common denominator to pass the law.”

President Berri had started the legislative session by saying: “Lebanon has lost a dear friend and brother who is a jewel of the Arabs. It is the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who hopes to do a minute of silence “.

He also asked to stand for a minute of silence on the spirit of the August 4 martyrs and on the spirit of the late MP Tariq Habashi.

Berri said during the legislative session at UNESCO: “As long as there are sectarian groups, no progress can be made in Lebanon. The ministers have already been arrested.”

On the other hand, the House of Representatives approved the Illicit Enrichment Law, limiting it to employees without officials of ministers and presidents, because it requires a constitutional reform.
