The political body of the Free Patriotic Movement called for an experiment in the distribution of ministries known as sovereignty over the smaller sects.
During its periodic meeting headed electronically by the head of the movement, Gebran Bassil, the commission issued the following statement: “The deadline set for the Pine Palace meeting ended two weeks ago and it has not been established after the expected government, so the Body politic affirms that the movement continues in a convincing way of its facilitating and positive role for the birth of the mission government, and warns that Any party understands this facilitation nonsense or thinks that it is a kind of weakness, because the movement contributes to the solution from the position of its popular strength and its representative legitimacy, and it is never ready to be politically annulled, and it will not allow any attack on its affiliates or supporters or its headquarters and will respond. Suitable for every situation “.
The statement added: “The Commission renews its adherence to the rapid establishment of a government that respects the unity of standards and is capable of producing and working effectively to achieve the required reform program, and confirms that the movement provides advice and has not established no conditions or demands, but refuses to consider any facilitation on his part at the birth of the government as a consecration “. For any custom, any ministry for any sect or group can be blessed. In fact, it is suggested in this sense to carry out an experiment of distribution of ministries known as sovereignty over the smaller sects, specifically the Druze, Alawite, Armenian and Christian minorities.
He continued: “The commission considers that the most important criterion at this stage is not the sectarian and political affiliation of the minister, but his enjoyment of the morality, ability and experience to comply with the agreed agreement, and the political body rejects any party to impose its signature on the Lebanese outside the constitution, norms and principles, or impose any other party. The Lebanese are obliged to appoint all ministers in the government as long as they do not have a representative majority or a constituent majority, and consequently the commission affirms that with the Free Patriotic Movement renouncing any demands and facilitating government formation to preserve the financial and economic bailout opportunity available to Lebanon, it is not subject to any external pressure or threat. With sanctions, but rather by the desire to the Lebanese to seize the opportunity to rescue. However, they will not accept the dominance of a single party over all s the Lebanese, regardless of their strength or power abroad. “
The statement concluded: “Even if the movement abdicates its role in the formation of the government, it will not renounce its role of representing those represented, and it will not accept inequality among the Lebanese, nor will it agree to circumvent the association of the President of the Republic in the formation of the government, and will not accept that it be imposed on it under the pretext of the pressing situation unless it is accepted under the pressure of security and politics. “
