What happened in the last two days as a result of the double US sanctions against whom the “Future Movement” considers the link between it and the Shiite duo and with external powers, has aroused among the leadership of the “future”, as in the club of former prime ministers, a series of questions raised with a certain panic:
1- Has Washington decided to upset the course of the French initiative, which everyone sees or uses as a platform for revenge against the Pact and the Free Patriotic Movement, considering the government of Mustafa Adib as the best version of government than the head of the “future? “failed to achieve as a result of his removal from the race with a Christian double veto?
2- Is the Arab position, and the Gulf in particular, identical to the American approach, which still considers that Hezbollah is the core of the problem and that there is no Lebanese stability without getting rid of it?
3- What is the way to protect the initiative – the means of revenge – without provoking more anger in the Gulf that originally prevented the head of the “Future” movement from realizing his desire to return to prime minister?
4- What if the objective of the sanctions decided to overthrow the secret government-political understanding that is not announced, turn the tables and return from the commitments and exchange of services that were designed to facilitate the birth of the government?
5- What if the Shiite duo decided to respond to US sanctions by adhering to the monopoly of appointing the Minister of Finance, in a way that would change the structure of the mission government, and by extension threatening to abort the French initiative? Who is responsible for all this?
6- In this case, is it possible to extend the period of fifteen days that ends on Tuesday, or does it expire and the designated president apologizes the same day and the window of opportunity for revenge expires?
7- What if the president-designate decided to implement the Parisian commitment, and sought the president of the Republic and deposited him in a government project according to French specifications based on the rotation in the main ministries and on the selection of ministers, keys that are they not partisan or close to the parties? What will the president’s position be on the roster?
These questions became evident in the last 24 hours, in the form of contacts with the outside world, especially with Paris, in parallel with the intensification of internal communication to avoid the failure of the government of Mustafa Adib.
The only constant so far is that the FPM is positioning itself outside of this entire bazaar. He informed French officials of his facilitating stance and that he is not at all interested in any government debate, whether the chairman in charge of the meeting wished or maintained his reluctant stance. The facilitation decision, with its strategic dimension, allowed it to frustrate the political objective of the blockade that was imposed on it in the last week as a result of preventing or refraining from consulting with the designated president.
