The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, affirmed that the message he addressed to parliament yesterday through the spokesman on the issue of the criminal accounting audit in the accounts of the Banque du Liban is completely independent of political disputes and conflicts, since be formal or profound, because its objective is to address a great national tragedy without solving a problem. Criminal scrutiny cannot be agreed with either countries wishing to help Lebanon, or with the International Monetary Fund and similar financial institutions.
President Aoun said during his meeting at the Baabda Palace this morning, Justice Minister Marie-Claude Negm, that the issue of criminal accounting audit is a national issue par excellence and the best way out of the crisis in which we live. President Aoun called on the media to understand this fact and respond to the successive calls he made, the most recent in the independence message, to address this delicate file with a responsibility imposed by the supreme national interest.
Minister Najm spoke with President Aoun about the situation of the Ministry of Justice and the need to work to achieve criminal scrutiny through all available avenues to achieve the desired goal.
